The Owners + Coaches
Behind the Movement
Renee mattice
-
Renee fell in love with movement and fitness during her time at Ithaca College, where she earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Applied Exercise Science, and Coaching.
Her career has included roles as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, personal trainer, cardiac rehabilitation specialist, and intercollegiate athletics administrator. Across every role, the part she has loved most is working with people: teaching, challenging, encouraging, and helping them discover what they are capable of.
Today, as a yoga instructor and strength coach, Renee believes deeply in the power of combining strength with purposeful movement. To her, real strength extends far beyond the gym. It is about building confidence, learning to trust yourself, showing up when things are hard, and having a community that reminds you that you do not have to do it alone.
That philosophy is at the heart of ROC Body West. Renee hopes every person who walks through the doors feels supported without judgment, challenged with intention, and celebrated exactly where they are while continuing to grow.
Kaia Mccue
-
Growing up in Greece, NY, Kaia often felt there were limited options for the kind of fitness experience she was looking for. She loved strength training, but also valued yoga, mobility, and learning how to move her body well. For years, she imagined a studio where those different elements of movement could exist together.
As a certified personal trainer, Kaia believes strength and intentional movement complement one another in a powerful way, creating a more balanced approach to fitness and long term wellness. That vision is a big part of what drew her to ROC Body West.
She is incredibly excited to help bring something new to the west side community and create a space where people can build strength, move better, and genuinely enjoy showing up for themselves.
emily Nestler
-
Growing up in athletics, Emily developed a passion for training and fitness from an early age. Through both coaching and her own experience, she has seen how a consistent movement practice can help people feel their best, stay active, and protect their quality of life for years to come.
For Emily, fitness is about more than performance. It is about building the strength, energy, and confidence to show up fully in everyday life and continue doing the things you love.
She is excited to be part of ROC Body West and the greater Rochester fitness community, helping create a supportive environment where people can build healthy, sustainable routines and become the strongest version of themselves.
